Peace Hills Trust manages its trusts services from its office located in Edmonton, Alberta. Georgina Villeneuve, Senior Executive VP – Trust Services, will be the key individual to lead your team due to her experience and expertise in First Nation trust issues, administration, taxation, and investments.
Georgina earned an undergraduate degree in professional studies from the University of Hawaii, then went on to complete her degree in commerce from the University of Calgary and an MBA from the University of Regina. She obtained her Member Trust Institute (MTI) designation through the Institute of Canadian Bankers.
Georgina is one of the very few who holds her Member in Trust Institute. The MTI designation requires an extensive study of trust law and taxation. During her career, Georgina has seen over 260 First Nation Trusts and has consulted with the Indigenous Bar, and Canadian and Australian governments.
Georgina successfully completed the AFOA Harvard Business School program – Leading People and Investing to Build Sustainable Communities. She prides herself on developing strong governance documents supported by proven communication strategies. Georgina has written numerous governance-papers.
During Georgina’s career she has administered over 260 trusts and written over 40 trusts. On top of her work on a vast number of trusts she has amended 13 trusts successfully. Georgina likes to say she knows the good, the bad and the ugly of trust models, administration, and investment.
Georgina believes in giving back to Nations. Georgina has donated her time and expertise to AFOA and NATOA to write Estate course for members both on and off reserve.
